The flag features three horizontal stripes of equal size, with the top and bottom stripes colored in light blue and the middle stripe in white. In the center of the white stripe is the state's coat of arms, which depicts a golden eagle perched on a cactus with a snake in its beak, surrounded by the words "Estado de Zacatecas" (State of Zacatecas) and sprigs of oak and laurel.
